Productivity versus security: solving the mobility conundrum

How do you balance the productivity gains mobile device deployment promises with an organisation’s need to keep its customer data and intellectual property secure? This is a perennial dilemma facing senior IT professionals.

Mobility means always on and on demand. It means application access regardless of location, device or operating system. In short, it means workplace agility that was simply not feasible in a world of fixed, desktop devices. It’s a compelling proposition.

On the other hand, when mobile devices serve as the main endpoint of enterprise systems, conventional wisdom tells us that security is at risk. Poor password management, sharing unencrypted files, theft and injudicious use of attachments are just four ways this security risk might manifest itself.

So how do you manage the trade off?

At this CBR Dining Club event, our partners for the evening BlackBerry will address this very question. David Kleidermacher, BlackBerry CSO will explain how security begins at the end-point and, how you can significantly increase the value of mobility and manage risk across different platforms at the same time. During the evening you will be given the opportunity to ask questions, compare notes with your industry peers and discuss the practicalities of security in the age of mobility.

Do join us at the Savoy for what promises to be an evening of engaging talks, informed debate and, of course, fine dining.
