Beyond finance: the new rules of business

Date: 6th Mar 2019

Venue: Balthazar London 4-6 Russell Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2B 5HZ

The finance department is ripe for reinvention. For those working in the food and beverage, and wholesale sectors much of the day-to-day challenge is clearly visible; from invoice tracking to inventory control, supply chain management and cash flow handling.

Yet, the task at hand is broader and wider than the conventional finance function has allowed. Cyclical and competitive pressures coupled with political headwinds - most notably from Brexit - require new thinking; an approach that not only reconsiders the intersection between the business and the finance function but also between finance and technology.

Recognising issues before they become problems is a key component of the job. Yet, research from the Aberdeen Group suggests that the chief information officer receives information too late to make decisions 24 per cent of the time.

We invite you to this specially-convened CBR Dining Club event, in association with Sage, to explore these challenges and and the opportunities open to the agile organisation.

So if you work in the food and beverages or wholesale industries and you want to push the boundaries of what the finance function can do, this is the event for you. It promises to be an evening of insightful talks, fruitful conversation and invaluable networking at the atmospheric brasserie Balthazar, in the heart of Covent Garden.
