Cloud adoption: Myth and reality

An Intel / CDW CBR Dining Club for those in financial services, retail and healthcare

Date: 18th Jun 2019

Venue: Christopher's, 18 Wellington St, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7DD

“The right workloads, in the right place, at the right time.” As a maxim for managing and maintaining enterprise IT software, applications and infrastructure, this is difficult to beat. And when looking to identify why cloud projects sometimes go wrong, it acts as a useful corrective. Too often workloads are in the wrong place at the wrong time, leading to overruns and poor service delivery.

As the metaphorical clouds lift on our understanding of an environment beyond on-premise, CBR has convened this one-off Dining Club event in association with Intel and CDW.

During the evening, we’ll seek to make sense of cloud adoption: the role of hybrid, architecture and management best practice, and the ongoing relevance of on-premise. We’ll also look at when public cloud makes sense – and when it should be avoided.

We’ll explore which applications and workloads suit which approach and discuss key operational considerations including:
• Performance and reliability
• Security and compliance
• Cost of ownership
• Scale; and
• Automation

Whatever stage you are at on your cloud journey, this is an event not to be missed. Do join us for a night of fine dining, insightful conversation and great company.
