Cloud adoption in the age of automation

Date: 19th Sep 2019

Venue: Christopher's, 18 Wellington St, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7DD

Ask organisations why they move workloads to the cloud and the answers that come back will be many and varied. Two stand out above most others, however. First, there’s a desire to increase agility, accelerating response to market opportunities. Second, organisations want to drive more insight from the data they hold: cloud allows them to do that at scale.

So far, so good. But cloud migration is not always straightforward. Organisations struggle to move at pace and once they fall behind schedule, they are inclined to make compromises, choosing to ‘lift and shift’ existing applications rather than seek to ‘lift and transform’. By choosing the former, organisations are merely delaying today’s problems until tomorrow, and transferring on-premise challenges to another platform.

But there is another way – and that’s the theme of this forthcoming CBR Dining Club Event, in association with Hitachi Vantara. It will be an evening devoted to automating cloud adoption and the need to take an application-centric approach.

During the event, Hitachi Vantara will introduce the Hitachi cloud platform. Attendees will learn how Hitachi Cloud Services:
• Deploys robotic process automation to accelerate cloud-based application modernisation
• Takes an infrastructure-as-code approach to cut time to deploy, verify and manage applications across public and private cloud environments; and
• Cuts cloud migration timelines by up to 96%
